4 Subjects Preparatory For 4 Years Old
Consistent Exposure
At 4 years old, children should recognize and write Arabic letters, expand vocabulary in Arabic and Malay, and start blending simple words.
They’ll also develop basic Math skills, improve English comprehension, and practice Islamic manners, preparing them for the Madrasah Entrance Test.
Hands-on learning and sensorial experiences are crucial in early childhood education because they actively engage young children, laying a strong foundation for cognitive, social, and motor development.
Here’s why these approaches are so beneficial:
Supports Brain Development
Hands-on, sensory-rich experiences stimulate young children's brains and help form neural connections. Engaging with textures, sounds, colors, and movements deepens their understanding of the world and enhances their ability to process information.
Encourages Exploration and Curiosity
Hands-on activities encourage children to explore, ask questions, and test ideas. This curiosity-driven learning approach builds critical thinking skills as children begin to understand cause and effect through direct experiences.
Strengthens Fine and Gross Motor Skills
Activities that involve manipulating objects—such as pouring, stacking, or drawing—help develop fine motor skills, while larger movements like climbing, jumping, or dancing build gross motor skills. These are essential for physical coordination and later skills, like writing.
Enhances Sensory Processing
Sensory activities like touching, tasting, or smelling allow children to process information from their environment, making sense of different sensations. This helps them regulate responses to sensory input and develop concentration.
Supports Language and Social Development
Hands-on activities often involve collaborative play, giving children a chance to communicate, share, and cooperate. This not only enhances social skills but also supports language development as they describe their experiences and feelings.
Builds Problem-Solving Skills
Through activities like building blocks or sorting objects, children learn problem-solving skills by experimenting, making mistakes, and finding solutions. This hands-on approach encourages resilience and perseverance.
Boosts Engagement and Motivation
Children are naturally more engaged when they can interact directly with materials. Hands-on learning makes abstract concepts tangible, making it easier and more enjoyable for them to grasp new ideas.
Incorporating hands-on and sensory experiences in early childhood education creates a rich, engaging learning environment where children can explore, grow, and build a lifelong love for learning.

4 Subjects Preparatory For 5 Years Old
Drill Phase
At 5 years old, preparation for the Madrasah Entrance Test becomes more intensive. Children practice with test papers in English, Math, Malay, and Arabic, both written and oral, focusing on understanding key concepts, developing language skills, and reinforcing math and literacy proficiency.
Tracking milestones for children, especially in preparation for the Madrasah Entrance Test (MET), is crucial for several reasons:
Ensures Readiness
Milestones provide a clear framework for monitoring a child’s progress in key areas like Arabic literacy, Islamic knowledge, and general learning skills, ensuring they are prepared for the MET.
Identifies Areas for Support
By tracking milestones, parents and educators can easily identify any gaps or areas where a child may need extra help, enabling timely intervention and support.
Personalized Learning
Every child develops at their own pace. Tracking milestones allows for a more personalized approach to teaching, ensuring that each child gets the attention they need to reach their full potential.
Builds Confidence
Achieving developmental milestones boosts a child’s confidence, helping them feel prepared and capable when it’s time for the MET. This self-assurance is crucial for their success in the test and beyond.
Involves Parents
Milestone tracking encourages parental involvement, giving parents a clear understanding of their child’s progress and how they can support learning at home.
Supports Long-term Development
Monitoring and achieving key milestones lay the foundation for continued academic success, not just for the MET but throughout a child’s entire educational journey.

For 5-year-olds, early preparation is essential to ensure they build a strong foundation before entering the 6-year-old level. Starting from January through December 2025, during their 5-year-old stage, sets the groundwork for their next phase.
Then, from January until May 2026, as they move into the 6-year-old level, they’ll engage in more targeted learning that builds on their previous year’s experiences. This structured approach helps children transition smoothly, reinforcing key skills and concepts progressively, and better prepares them for assessments and future learning milestones.

For 5-year-olds, a dedicated 12-month period of preparation is ideal, focusing on four written subjects and three oral components. This approach allows ample time to introduce and establish foundational skills in each subject area. When they reach 6 years old, the emphasis shifts to reinforcing and revising these concepts, allowing them to solidify their knowledge and enhance their readiness. This progression ensures they gain confidence and mastery before moving on to more advanced material.

4 Subjects Preparatory For 5 Years Old – Continuation Students
Revision Phase
At 6 years old, Madrasah Entrance Test preparation is more intensive and rigorous.
Children engage in thorough revision and practice papers for English, Math, Malay, and Arabic, both written and oral, focusing on strengthening concepts learned and enhancing test-taking skills for the exam.

METR6
For our LIC students who have been with us since 4y or 5y, many key components and aspects of the curriculum have already been covered. This 5-month period will focus primarily on reinforcement and revision to solidify their understanding and prepare them for the next stage.

METB6
For new students registering for METB6, a high level of commitment is essential to ensure you gain intensive exposure. In addition to your full-time school, we trust that your school has already provided the foundational basics. At LIC, METB6 will focus on solidifying these basics and reinforcing key aspects over a 4+ month period. With consistent attendance and effort from home, let's work together to achieve success!
